Cheniere also has received other good news on Corpus Christi. To get a permit for the unrestricted export of liquefied natural gas, a facility has to win approval from the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). DOE has accelerated its permit process, but FERC approval has become a major bottleneck, since the commission needs to coordinate studies from several other agencies before it can complete its review. Cheniere has recently received a scheduling notice from FERC, which looks to put that facility on track for a permit ruling by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

Top 5 Income Stocks To Watch Right Now

Over the last several years Dividend Stocks have become immensely popular. It seems that every financial adviser or financial publication is proclaiming that you should own dividend stocks. Each are singing the virtues of dividend stocks from their own perspective. To that I have two questions:

1. What took you so long? 2. Do you really understand why dividend stocks are such a good long-term investment? I am entertained that many "experts" are now recommending dividend stocks based on his or her investing makeup. Some are recommending dividend stocks as part of their sector rotation, or as the next hot fad, - stay tuned and they will tell you when to jump out. Others are recommending dividend stocks as substitutes for bonds since yields on fixed income investments have all but dried up. All arrived at what I consider to be the correct conclusion, but do they really understand why dividends matter? Below are 11 reasons why dividends matter in all markets:

1. In a troubled market, dividends provide investment opportunity

While everyone else is panicked about their portfolio's decline, dividend investors see a downturn as an incredible buying opportunity. The lower a stock's price goes the higher its dividend yield. In a down-market it is a lot easier to buy a stock that pays you an increasing dividend than one that doesn't. Simply put, the dividend stock is paying you to wait on its recovery, while the non-payer may continue to decline of remain stagnate for years.

Still, for the nimble who know when to get out, OREX is one of the few cheap stocks worth a closer look.

    Sucampo Pharmaceuticals (SCMP)

Finally, though the price of $7.60 clearly qualifies it as one pf the cheapest of the cheap stocks out there in the pharmaceutical world, that’s not the reason Sucampo Pharmaceuticals (SCMP) may be worth a look here. It’s the 30% slide we’ve seen SCMP stock suffer since peaking in mid-January. It’s not a pullback that’s bound to go unchallenged by the bulls.

  • [By Roberto Pedone]

Another under-$10 stock that's starting to trend within range of triggering a major breakout trade is Sucampo Pharmaceuticals (SCMP), which is engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of proprietary drugs based on prostones, and other novel drug technologies. This stock is off to a decent start in 2013, with shares up by 26%.

If you take a look at the chart for Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, you'll notice that this stock has been downtrending badly for the last four months, with shares dumping hard from its high of $10.48 to its recent low of $5.40 a share. During that downtrend, shares of SCMP have been consistently making lower highs and lower lows, which is bearish technical price action. That said, the downside volatility for SCMP looks to be over in the short-term since the stock has started to reverse its downtrend and enter an uptrend. That reverse is quickly pushing shares of SCMP within range of triggering a major breakout trade above a key downtrend line.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in SCMP if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $6.33 to $6.66 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 115,383 shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then SCMP will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $7.09 to $7.67 a share. Any high-volume move above those levels will then give SCMP a chance to tag $8 to $9 a share.

Traders can look to buy SCMP off weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below some key near-term support levels at $5.58 to $5.40 a share. One can also buy SCMP off strength once it clears those breakout levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

  • [By Roberto Pedone]

One under-$10 name that's starting to move within range of triggering a near-term breakout trade is LDK Solar (LDK), a vertically integrated manufacturer of PV products for polysilicon, wafers, cells, modules, systems, power projects and solutions. This stock is off to a decent start in 2013, with shares up 13.1%.

If you take a look at the chart for LDK Solar, you'll notice that this stock has been trending range bound and consolidating for the last month and change, with shares moving between $1.42 on the downside and $2 a share on the upside. Shares of LDK have just started to trend back above its 50-day moving average at $1.55 a share with decent upside volume flows. That move is quickly pushing shares of LDK within range of triggering a near-term breakout trade above a key downtrend line that has acted as resistance for a few months.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in LDK if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $1.78 to $1.83 a share and then once it clears more resistance at $2 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 1.97 million shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then LDK will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $2.17 to its 52-week high at $2.32 a share. Any high-volume move above $2.32 to $2.36 will then give LDK a chance to tag $3 to $3.50 a share.

Traders can look to buy LDK off any weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below some key near-term support levels at its 200-day moving average of $1.46 or at $1.42 a share. One can also buy LDK off strength once it clears those breakout levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

This stock has been making higher lows over the last three months each time it has pulled back, which is a bullish technical sign. That trade will hit if EMRK manages to take out some key near-term overhead resistance levels at $4.16 to $4.20 and then above $4.22 with high volume.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in EMKR as long as it's trending above some key near-term support levels at $3.90 to $3.86 or above more support at $3.78 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 103,744 shares. The company was formerly known as Conseco, Inc. and changed its name to CNO Financial Group, Inc. in May 2010. CNO Financial Group, Inc. was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Carmel, Indiana.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Dimitra DeFotis]

Many other insurers are trading lower today, chief among them Aflac (AFL), down 3.65%. CNO Financial (CNO) fell 1%. The best performer: life insurance giant Prudential (PRU), whose shares rose more than 1%.

  • [By Jonas Elmerraji]

Up first is CNO Financial Group (CNO), a mid-cap financial ! stock that's rocketed close to 60% higher since the calendar flipped over to January. Yup, it's been a great year for the market, but it's been a far better one for investors who own CNO. But that strong performance isn't showing any signs of slowing yet. In fact, CNO looks primed for even more upside in the fourth quarter.

That's because CNO is currently forming a bullish pattern called an ascending triangle. The ascending triangle pattern is formed by a horizontal resistance level above shares -- in this case at $14.75 -- and uptrending support to the downside. Basically, as CNO bounces in between those two technical price levels, it's getting squeezed closer and closer to a breakout above that $14.75 resistance level. When that breakout happens, it's time to become a buyer.

ACCO's price action isn't exactly textbook. After all, the pattern is coming in at the bottom of a downtrend, not after an uptrend. But ultimately, that doesn't change the trading implications of a move through that $7.50 level.

Whenever you're looking at any technical price pattern, it's critical to think in terms of those buyers and sellers. Ascending triangles and other pattern names are a good quick way to explain what's going on in a stock, but they're not the reason it's tradable. Instead, it all comes down to supply and demand for shares.

That $7.50 resistance level is a price where there has been an excess of supply of shares; in other words, it's a place where sellers have been more eager to step in and take gains than buyers have been to buy. That's what makes a breakout above it so significant. The move means that buyers are finally strong enough to absorb all of the excess supply above that price level.

I have heard many people comment about the insurance policies for cars, houses, life, assets, etc. The arguments always revolve around the same issue: Is it really necessary? What are the chances to be hit! by a Hur! ricane, or to meet a sudden death? Well, nobody really knows. Some individuals however, sleep better when they know a policy backs their life investments. Here, I will look into three insurance companies that concentrate on different policies, or geographies. These are: China Life (LFC), and Conseco (CNO).

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By BDC Buzz]

FDUS is one of the few BDCs to consistently grow its NAV on a quarterly basis over the last two years. This is because most BDCs are regulated investment companies ("RIC") required to distribute at least 90% of capital gains, dividends and interest to shareholders to avoid taxation at the corporate level and 98% of net investment income to avoid paying a 4% excise tax. Excluding American Capital (ACAS) which converted from a RIC to a Subchapter C and does not pay a dividend, only a few BDCs have been able to pay a healthy dividend while increasing value per share - as discussed in "Triangle Capital: Is It Priced For Total Return?" including Main Street Capital (MAIN) and Triangle Capital (TCAP).

  • [By Eric Volkman]

Triangle Capital (NYSE: TCAP  ) is continuing to set aside money to return to shareholders. The company has declared its latest quarterly dividend, which is to be $0.54 per share paid on June 26 to shareholders of record as of June 12. That amount matches the firm's previous distribution, which was paid in late March. Prior to that, it handed out $0.53 per share.

Much has been made over Keating Capital's fee structure, and suggestions that company executives are using it as a "personal ATM" to funnel shareholder money to Keating Investments, Keating Capital's investment adviser (Keating Capital is an externally managed business development company). However, Keating's fees are not exorbitant, at least in comparison to the industry average. Per data sourced from Triangle Capital (TCAP), the average externally managed BDC has a management fee of 1.75%-2% of gross assets, and an incentive fee of 20%. Keating Capital's fee structure includes a 2% management fee, and a 20% incentive fee, in line with the industry average. The formula below represents Keating Capital's incentive fee:

Top 5 Forestry Stocks For 2014

Americans have been hearing a lot about the rapid increase in oil production within our borders. However, the lack of this connection to the price of gasoline at the pump has many of them questioning the dislocation. With supply increasing and domestic demand decreasing, shouldn't the price be reduced to a point of equilibrium? It's basic economics, right?

Unfortunately, we aren't the only consumers of gasoline
If the United States were isolated in a vacuum, my answer would be a resounding yes. Unfortunately, that simply isn't the case. Exports have been growing at an alarming rate for gasoline used in automobiles. Since 2000, Mexico has been the dominant purchaser, but as of November 2011 Venezuela has been opening its ports at an alarming rate.

Recent Venezuelan activity
From November 2011 until January of this year, it has gone from importing next to zero gasoline from the U.S. to accounting for 20% of our total exports now. What has this meant for American drivers? Tune in below to find out.

It's a great idea to get children interested in investing early, and buying some stocks for them is a great way to accomplish that. I'd recommend using a very long-term buy-and-hold strategy focused on high-quality, sustainable businesses. I'd forgo dividends and focus on long-term appreciation (just my personal opinion). Stocks that I'd recommend for this strategy include Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN  ) , Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-B  ) , CarMax (NYSE: KMX  ) , and Markel (NYSE: MKL  ) . All are great companies that I'd be happy to hold for a decade.

Mid cap networking solutions company Brocade Communications Systems, Inc (NASDAQ: BRCD) has pretty much been a sleeper for investors since the dot.com bust, but that has changed over the past year meaning its worth revisiting the stock along with potential performance benchmarkslike QLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QLGC), Emulex Corporation (NYSE: ELX) and iShares North American Tech-Multimedia Networking ETF (NYSEARCA: IGN). I should mention that we have recently Brocade Communications Systems to our SmallCap Network Elite Opportunity (SCN EO) portfolio because the company has successfully transitioned from being a hardware company to supporting virtual networks via software and it continues to offer best-of-breed technology.

Emulex (ELX) is a provider of a range of network convergence solutions that intelligently connect servers, storage and networks within the data center. This stock closed up 1.6% to $8.14 in Thursday's trading session.

    Thursday's Range: $8.05-$8.22

    52-Week Range: $5.72-$8.99

    Thursday's Volume: 727,000

    Three-Month Average Volume: 786,981

From a technical perspective, ELX bounced modestly higher here right above some near-term support at $7.95 with decent upside volume. This stock has been trending sideways inside of a consolidation chart pattern over the last month, with shares moving between 7.50 on the downside and $8.46 on the upside. This modest spike is now starting to push shares of ELX within range of triggering a near-term breakout trade above the upper-end of its recent sideways trading chart patt! ern. That! trade will hit if ELX manages to take out some near-term overhead resistance levels at $8.34 to $8.46 with high volume.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in ELX as long as it's trending above some key near-term support levels at $7.95 or $7.50 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 786,981 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then ELX will set up to re-test or possibly take out its 52-week high at $8.99. Any high-volume move above $8.99 will then give ELX a chance to tag its next major overhead resistance levels at $10 to $11.19.

Hot Cheapest Stocks To Buy For 2014

The number of companies paying dividends in the S&P 500 is at a 15-year high. According to FactSet, just over 80 companies in the index do not pay dividends. Paying dividends has become more attractive for companies of all sizes.

However, not all dividends are created equal. Of the 500 companies in the index, 99 pay their shareholders a dividend of 3% or more. By comparison, a 10-year Treasury note yields 2.66%. While Treasury securities come with an implied guarantee of a return of principal, share price appreciation of these companies also is expected to provide additional positive returns. Dividends are intended to make those returns even better over time.

BASEBALL: The priciest and cheapest playoff tickets

Dividends are considered among the most straightforward measures of capital returns. After all, they represent cash going back into the hands of investors directly from the company. However, a high dividend yield does not give a complete picture of the value of an investment. The health of the company also has to be considered. Investors need to be able to differentiate a high dividend from a safe dividend.

The company has a current ROE of 15.65% which is higher than the one exhibit by Superior Energy Services Inc (SPN) and National Oilwell Varco Inc (NOV). So for investors looking for those levels or more, Oceaneering International(OII) could be the option and Core Laboratories NV(CLB) tremendous ratio seems very attractive. It is very important to understand this metric before investing and it is important to look at the trend in ROE over time.

HTC Just Broke Google's Promise

In the face of escalating criticism over platform fragmentation, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG  ) made a promise more than two years ago at Google I/O 2011 about Android:

So today we're announcing that a founding team of industry leaders, including many from the Open Handset Alliance, are working together to adopt guidelines for how quickly devices are updated after a new platform release, and also for how long they will continue to be updated. The founding partners are Verizon, HTC, Samsung, Sprint, Sony Ericsson, LG, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Motorola and AT&T, and we welcome others to join us. To start, we're jointly announcing that new devices from participating partners will receive the latest Android platform upgrades for 18 months after the device is first released, as long as the hardware allows ... and that's just the beginning.

The search giant was collaborating with carrier and OEM partners to ensure that new Android devices would receive software updates for at least 18 months after launch, with the disclaimer that the hardware would support it. These middlemen have always held back Android software updates, and Google wanted them to commit to improving their ways.

HTC and Samsung are among the two most prominent Android vendors right now. While HTC has fallen hard on the times at the hands of Samsung's marketing barrage, the Taiwanese company is looking to cut costs. As part of that, HTC has now backtracked on its plans to upgrade its One S to the newest version of Android, 4.2.2 Jelly Bean -- just months after promising to upgrade the device. In February, HTC said it would be upgrading a slew of devices, including the One S.

The One S was launched just 14 months ago, and HTC's confirmation that the device will stay on an older version of Android and HTC's Sense overlay falls short of the 18-month commitment that it made with Google. The company doesn't make any excuses about the hardware not being able to handle it, which wouldn't be believable considering how recently HTC was planning on upgrading the One S. The One S has respectable specs anyway. This is purely a cost-saving move.

Top 10 Income Companies To Watch In Right Now

The situation shows how difficult it is for Google to manage Android's fragmentation, despite its best efforts. Nexus and Google Editions aren't be plagued by these issues, as software updates will be delivered directly from Google, but when it comes to the more common subsidized Android models Google can't always keep its promise through no fault of its own.
